Day 1
Tampere, the Sauna Capital warmly welcomes you! It’s the city with numerous events, fascinating cultural experiences, and soothing lake views. This is where urban city life walks hand in hand with nature.
The 10-minute city centre makes it easy to explore the city by foot or by bike! You will find a vast selection of hotels within walking distance from the railway station, but if you want to stay closer to nature, there are nice options for that, too.
The city centre with its museums, restaurants and historic old factory areas invites you to find out what the city is all about. Visit the Finlayson area and the Tallipiha Stable Yards or Näsilinna and Milavida museums. Or find out about Tampere´s industrial past at the Finnish Labour Museum Werstas.
On the other side of Tammerkoski river you will find Museum Center Vapriikki. A collection of small museums and exhibitions. Visit for example the Finnish Hockey Hall of Fame or the Finnish Museum of Games.

Day 2
This is a perfect day for a biking tour in the city. Rent a city bike or a fat bike and start exploring!
Head to the Hatanpää Arboretum and admire the lovely garden and the roses, especially in August. If you are really into it, there is a lovely route around the Pyhäjärvi lake. The length is appr. 30 kilometers, and it follows the lakeside and living neighborhoods, countryside and more urban areas.
Or maybe you would like to follow the route to Ranta-Tampella and onwards to the newest neighborhoods in Hiedanranta. On the way back, after a bit of work, you can reward yourself with a freshly baked donut and a gorgeous view at the Pyynikki observation tower. On the way back to the city center, stop at the Amuri Museum of Historic Housing, an open-air museum telling one side of the story of Tampere as the birthplace of Finnish industrialism.
After an active day it is time to experience something truly Finnish. Sauna. Choose the oldest public sauna in Finland, Rajaportti or a modern sauna-restaurant Kuuma in the city center. Or any of the almost 20 public saunas in the city area. Relax and enjoy!
