    Day 1

Start your route at Harju. The Nero stairs leading to the Vesilinna Tower, are among the most photographed sites in Jyväskylä. The observation deck in the Vesilinna Tower offers magnificent views of the city from all directions.

The Craft Museum of Finland and National Costume Centre will show you the many faces of crafts and take you on a journey through time. In the museum shop, you can find a unique selection of Finnish hand-made crafts. The shop is open during museum opening hours, even on Sundays. The Jyväskylä Art Museum, located only few steps away, focuses on exhibitions that display art from the Jyväskylä Region and from regions related to it.

The Church Park is a green oasis – a beautiful and popular meeting place in the middle of the city. Jyväskylä City Church, the first stone church in the Jyväskylä Region, was built in the middle of the park in 1880. Located near the Church Park, the Toivola Old Courtyard offers an indulging café and restaurants, boutiques and museum buildings to explore.

Along your route there are sites designed by Wivi Lönn and the world famous architect Alvar Aalto. The Aalto2 Museum centre offers you a unique meeting place of architecture, design and cultural heritage. Final stop of the route is the Lutakko Harbour. The harbour attracts people to have picnics, enjoy the varied treats to eat from nearby restaurants, participate on fun activities- all done while admiring the beautiful lake scenery of Jyväsjärvi.
