The Capital City of Alvar Aalto’s Architecture

In Jyväskylä, the city of lakes and hills in the heart of the Finnish Lakeland, you’ll find the world’s largest collection of significant building complexes designed by the renowned architect and academician Alvar Aalto. Three of these sites, Säynätsalo Town Hall, Muuratsalo Experimental House and the Aalto Campus built around the University of Jyväskylä’s Main Building, are part of the Aalto Works ensemble on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
