Häme is known for the medieval history. The old Ox Road leads from Turku Castle to Häme Castle and along the way there are many small historical villages. Medieval Häme Castle is an interesting place to visit. Häme is also known for the history of textile and glass design, which you can get to know in Forssa and Riihimäki.

Häme Region
Day 1
Check in at the small bed and breakfast Matin ja Maijan Majatalo in a historical building. Join the tour in historical Häme Castle, one of the three largest medieval castles in Finland. In the same area you will also find the interesting Prison museum and the Museum Militaria, which you can visit with a combined ticket. If you happen to travel at autumn, you can also take a part in the Medieval Festival, the biggest history event in Finland. After castle head to Hattula and visit the Holy Cross Church with magnificent wall paintings.

Day 2
Drive along the Ox Road, one of the oldest historical roads in Finland. Enjoy the cultural landscapes and stop by the villages. Visit Tiirinkoski Factory and Porras Tannery Museum. The road leads you to Forssa, where you can get to know the history of textile industry and even try textile printing yourself! Have a dinner at the hut in Museotila hevossilta or if you want to stay inside, try the restaurant Villa. Spend a night in historical Hotel Maakunta.

Day 3
After breakfast, transfer to Riihimäki. Get to know the history of glass in the Finnish Glass Museum. Walk also in the historical Hyttikortteli and visit the small glass studios. Take a tour in the hunting museum of Finland next to the Finnish Glass Museum. Before departure dinner at Restaurant Obelix in Riihimäki center.
