The Mannerheim Salon Car is a unique part of Finnish and European railway history located in Sastamala, Finland. Built in France in 1913 as a CIWL dining car, it once served international railway routes before arriving in Finland. The carriage is particularly known for Marshal Mannerheim’s 75th birthday on 4 June 1942, when Marshal Mannerheim and Adolf Hitler dined aboard the car. Carefully restored in 2025–2026, the Mannerheim Salon Car now serves as a museum attraction and event venue in the grounds of Kiskokabinetti. During the summer season, visitors are welcome to explore the carriage free of charge during Kiskokabinetti’s opening hours.
