Visit websiteThe settlement farm, comprising the farmhouse, sauna, cowhouse and threshing barn, has been kept well and [IT5.1]retains its original appearance. The diverse collection of artefacts [IT6.1]dates from the 1930s up to the 1970s. The farm has served as a museum since 2000.
The Settlement Farm Museum of Finland is situated in a lively countryside milieu in the village of Alapitkä, Lapinlahti, merely 1 kilometre off National Road 5. The centrepiece of the museum is the old farmhouse, and in the yard there are other buildings, each of which once served a particular purpose at the farm. One of them is the threshing barn that today houses a comfortable summer café offering a refreshing break during your museum visit. In high summer, visitors also get to see Anni’s chickens waddling in the farmyard.
