Wilderness cabin by Lake Huosiosjärvi in Hossa

A traditional log-built wilderness cabin located near Hossa National Park on the shore of Lake Huosiosjärvi. This off-grid cabin offers an authentic nature experience in peaceful surroundings.

The cabin includes a main room and two sleeping alcoves. Sleeping arrangements include a double bed and upper bunk in one alcove, and three lower beds with one upper bunk in the other.

Cooking is done on a gas stove (no oven), and a traditional cellar is located under the kitchen floor. Heating is provided by a wood-burning stove.

The cabin has no electricity or running water. Utility water is taken from the lake, and drinking water must be brought along or collected from the Nature Centre.

Outdoor facilities include a separate sauna, rowing boat with life jackets, outdoor fireplace and a smoking box.

There are approximately 90 km of marked hiking trails and 60 km of cross-country ski tracks in the area. Accessible structures are available, and the terrain is also suitable for jogging and outdoor exercise. Maps of the routes are available.

Local attractions include the Värikallio rock paintings, structures related to reindeer herding culture, and the Lounatkoskis mill.
