The Days of Old Literature

The Days of Old Literature are always held on the Friday and on the Saturday after Midsummer in Sastamala. The cornerstone of the event is an antiquarian book sale, and about 30 antiquarian bookshops gather there every year. In addition, the event features over 40 book industry players, including new book sellers, publishers and associations.

The event’s program is built around a theme that changes annually. The theme is discussed in seminars and panel discussions, which feature leading authors, politicians and researchers. The program also includes Children’s Book Days on Saturday morning.

Lunch, coffee, tea, ice cream and refreshments are available at the event area.

Visitors to the event will be served by a city bus, which makes it easy to arrive at the event venue from, for example, the railway station. The bus also allows you to explore Tyrvää’s St. Olav’s Church and other attractions as well as the city’s shops.
