Outdoor Express Leivonmäki National Park

Outdoor Express, operating on weekends during the summer season, offers a quick bus connection from Jyväskylä city center to Leivonmäki National Park. Upon arrival, there is plenty of time for hiking and enjoying nature. You can explore independently on foot or take advantage of the diverse guide and experience services offered by the national parks. These services are not included in the transportation price and must be booked separately from local service providers.

Outdoor Express operates on consecutive days, allowing for overnight stays at the destination. You can do a day trip, or pack a tent or book accommodation near your destination and return on the next day’s ride.

Leivonmäki National Park enchants visitors with its varied landscapes, where ridges, lakes, and wetlands create a unique natural mosaic. The 3.5 km Koskikara Nature Trail starts from Rutalahti, and the 4.5 km Harju Loop and 5.5 km Mäyrä Loop, starting from the Selänpohja parking area, offer stunning scenery and diverse nature experiences.

Departures: Sat 25.7., Sun 26.7., Sat 29.8., Sun 30.8., Sat 26.9. and Sun 27.9. Tickets are sold one-way. Remember to also book your return transportation. Ticket sales end 20 minutes before departure.

The bus departs from Jyväskylä Travel Center at 11:00 and stops at Harjulahti Beach (if necessary) at 11:45, Kirveslammi P (Harjujärvi accessible route) at 11:50, Selänpohja P at 12:10 and Rutalahti (Koskikara tour) at 12:25.
During the day, the same ticket also allows you to move around inside the national park: Rutalahti (Koskikara circuit) at 14:30, Selänpohja P at 14:45.,Kirveslammi P at 15:00- Kirveslammi P at 15:00, Selänpohja P 15:15., Rutalahti (Koskikara circuit) at 15:30.
The return bus departs from Koskikara (Rutalahti P) at 17:00, Selänpohja P at 17:15., Kirveslammi P (Harjujärvi accesible, if necessary also Harjulahti Beach) at 17:30. The bus arrives in Jyväskylä at 18:30.
Pets are welcome on Sunday trips.
