Mikko-Pekka Hyvärinen – Breakage- Exhibition

Visual artist Mikko-Pekka Hyvärinen’s paintings combine different work environments as part of a surreal urban landscape. The exhibition is a kind of dive into the psychophysical intermediate spaces of a society that worships consumerism and work. In Hyvärinen’s works, you can sense a melancholic hopelessness surrounded by urban living conditions, among which a playful and on the other hand wistful hopefulness takes its place.

“The works in the exhibition have started to be built from my reflections on the precariat, including myself as an artist. I have combined various low-paying fields with artistic work to guarantee my livelihood as an artist.” the artworks consist of images from working environments familiar to Hyvärinen.
