Kuopio Dance Festival

Kuopio Dance Festival is the oldest international dance festival in the Nordic countries and will be held for the 56th time from June 6th to 14th, 2025!

This annual celebration of dance takes place in the heart of Finland, showcasing the art form in all its diversity. The festival brings together both international and Finnish dance stars in Kuopio.

In summer 2025, the program curated by Kenneth Kvarnström highlights street dance and poetry. The lineup includes the grand production Sol Invictus, featuring seventeen dancers on the Olvi Arena stage, as well as Norway’s Elle Sofe Company, whose powerful work Vástádus eana / The Answer is Land is inspired by Sámi traditions.

Altogether the festival offers over a hundred events, including dance performances, courses, seminars, and much more.
