Guided walking tour in the heart of Jyväskylä

Jyväskylä has grown from a small village into the 7th biggest city in Finland. This guided walking tour takes you through the centre of Jyväskylä and into the lives of the locals from history to today.

The centre of Jyväskylä is easy to explore on foot. Kauppakatu has been Jyväskylä’s main street since the beginning and many essential sights can be found on or near it.

During this tour you will hear how a small marketplace became the fastest growing Finnish city of the 20th century. You will see interesting architecture including some works of the famous architect Alvar Aalto, and get a good overview of what the city has to offer.

The tour is available in English and depending on the availability of the guides, in several other languages. All our guides are authorized by the Federation of Finnish Tourist Guide Associations.

– Extra hours for e.g. guided shopping or guided visits to the Craft Museum of Finland, Art Museum of Central Finland, Natural History Museum of Central Finland, or Soihtu Exhibition Centre and campus of the University of Jyväskylä, €48/96 per hour (entrance fees are not included).
