Festival X TAI-WAN? – Landscapes and stories of Taiwan

Kaohsiung Traditional Orchestra Taiwan takes the audience on a journey through Taiwan’s history and cultural landscapes. The program features compositions that seek to evoke Taiwan’s scenery and stories during different eras.

The concert is conducted by Che-Chen Kuo, with gaohu-violin virtuoso Li-Ting Peng performing Liang-Hui Lu’s Love at Xizi Bay Concerto, a piece that beautifully combines lyrical melodies with complex technical passages. The concert also features Chung Jen’s pipa concerto Facing the Snow, which conjures up images of winter landscapes and the unique aesthetics of traditional Chinese painting.
