Evolving Guitar – Compositions and Arrangements for Guitar in Words and Music

How are new works created in collaboration with composers? How can piano and orchestral music be arranged for one, two, or four guitars, or for guitar and cello? What do new compositions for guitar and contemporary music ensemble sound like? The 21st Tampere Guitar Festival is full of both new and old music composed and arranged for guitar from Finland, Lithuania, Turkey, and across Europe, sharing the stories behind the music. Come listen and experience it together!

The 21st international Tampere Guitar Festival will take place from June 4–7. The main theme of the event is Evolving Guitar, which explores the current state and future of guitar repertoire. This theme will be reflected in all concerts as well as in an open lecture series. Additionally, the 5th Youth Guitar Competition will be held during the festival. The main venue is Tampere Conservatory, with additional concerts at Aleksanteri Church, the Old Church of Pirkkala, and Kulttuuritalo Telakka.
