Snowshoeing Tour to Koli’s Peaks

Snowshoeing is the most popular winter activity in Koli, and on a guided tour you’ll experience it at its very best. A wilderness guide leads the group along the Peaks Trail toward Koli’s iconic locations: the Temple of Silence, and the summits of Paha-, Akka-, and Ukko-Koli. In winter, Koli transforms into a fairytale landscape, with snow-laden “tykky” trees creating a unique atmosphere — the southernmost place in Finland where this phenomenon occurs. No previous experience is needed; the tour uses stable snowshoes and poles that make travel steady and safe.

SUITABILITY
The route includes ascents, so the tour requires good basic fitness. No prior snowshoeing experience is required.

EQUIPMENT NEEDED
Weather-appropriate warm outdoor clothing, backpack and a water bottle. Winter gear set (winter overalls, shoes, a hat and gloves) available at an extra charge of 25 €/person.
