Howard Shore’s symphonic suites consist of the most loved themes from Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit movies. The Lord of the Rings movie series has been one of the most influential film trilogy ever published, and has been loved by both adults and youth since it’s release in 2001-2003.
The original saga behind the films was created by J.R.R.Tolkien, a British author and a philologist who was an enthusiasts of ancient Nordic legends and epics. He became an admirer of Finnish language after reading the Finnish national epic Kalevala, and used is as a basis of his later created language Quenia for ancient Elves in his fantasy world.
The conductor Anthony Gabriele, specialised in movie concerts, conducted also the Harry Potter concert of Mikkelin Music Festival in 2023. Saturday 9 will have additional pop-up-program for families, connected to the Middle Earth world and characters.
