Visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site Petäjävesi Old Church

The Petäjävesi Old Church, built by Central Finnish farmers between 1763 and 1765, tells the story of everyday Finnish life across four centuries, from birth to death. The mystical church was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1994 as an exceptional example of traditional Northern European wooden church architecture and log construction. Its appearance has remained almost unchanged throughout the centuries.
