Buy onlineThe 56th Kainuu Orienteering Week will be organized in the great terrains of Joutenlampi in Kajaani from June 30 to July 5, 2024. Open orienteering (open courses) of the orienteering week offer orienteering experiences suitable for everyone in Kainuu’s great orienteering terrains and in the relaxed and safe atmosphere of the one of the biggest orienteering event in Finland. You can participate in the Kainuu O Week’s open courses (recreational orienteering) for individual days or sign up for the whole week at once. In Kainuu O-Week there are four (4) competition days and two (2) rest days.
The following open courses are available:
– Adventure Track (Rastiralli): An adventurous signposted orienteering course in the vicinity of Muksula (kids day care), with fun tasks along an easy and short course, suitable for the youngest in the family. No timing. You can circle the course alone or with a parent/guardian/group.
– Family-RR category: A signposted orienteering course aimed at the youngest members of the family (Check course = RR). In this category, time is taken and daily results are provided, but the overall results (whole week) are not calculated and no place awards are given. You can circle the course alone or with a parent/guardian/group.
– OPEN C, B and A courses: In these series, time is taken and daily results are provided, but the overall results (whole week) are not calculated and no place awards are given:
–– Open C-short / C-long: Normal orienteering course, easy skill level, suitable for orienteering beginners.
–– Open B-short / B-medium / B-long: Normal orienteering course, normal skill level, for experienced orienteers
–– Open A-short / A-medium / A-long: Normal orienteering course, difficult skill level, for competitive and elite orienteers
In open courses (C-A) you can also orienteer with a friend or in a group, but each participant registers separately and receives personal competition number, competition card, results and split times.
