Glamping on Seal Island

Go for an effortless outdoor night out in the lap of nature. This trip is at its best in May, when you can appreciate the warmth of the stove in a tent and easily spot Saimaa seals resting on rocks and other natural wonders.The self-guided tour starts from the Saimaa Canoeing base, where you can choose to take an open canoe (for two or three persons), or double kayak to paddle to the island. At the departure point, you will not only receive equipment but also detailed instructions on the trip, the route and responsible nature observation. Depending on the route, the canoeing distance to the island is between 3 and 5 km.

In the middle of the best “Saimaan Norppa” waters of Lake Saimaa you will find a Glamping tent heated by a stove with camping beds for four people. Near the tent is a neat outdoor toilet and a storage room with firewood and drinking water available for an extra charge. The island also has its own campfire site, where you can have an evening snack if the forest fire warning allows it.You can leave for the excursion daily at from 2 PM and return to the starting point by 14:00 the following day. The glamping accommodation and campsite is reserved for one group at a time.
