Forest foraging and cooking experience with local host at Lake Saimaa 8.7.2024
Experience edible treasures of the Finnish forest!
Uhkua is organizing an experience in July focusing on wild food. Join us as we venture into our nearby forest to gather ingredients for a meal that will be prepared together with D.O.Saimaa -chef, Ilkka Arvola. This experience is a tribute to the Finnish forest and its offerings. Let’s enjoy the joy of discovery and cooking together and discuss locally sourced food from the Saimaa region.
In July, our plates will likely feature blueberries and chanterelle mushrooms, while vegetables from the garden and local producers, as well as fresh fish from the lake, will also be included. These ingredients will be cooked into a delicious Saimaa-flavored meal outdoors by an open fire. Non-alcoholic beverages are included in the price; if you would like alcoholic drink recommendations, please contact us.
Please bring appropriate clothing and footwear for the weather and walking in the forest. We will provide baskets, mushroom knives, and cooking aprons for your use.
