Here, history and modern life meet amidst red-brick factory buildings – this traditional area traces its origins to the Finlayson cotton mill established in the 1820s, around which the city of Tampere was built.

Today, Finlayson area is known for its diverse cultural offerings and events, most of which are free of charge for visitors. The area is home to over a hundred businesses – including shops, restaurants, cafés, a cinema, and several museums. Its wide range of services and charming atmosphere make it a truly unique destination.
