The Metsämieli method combines the benefits of moving in nature and mental skills exercises into a program that supports comprehensive well-being. The Metsämieli method is based on researched knowledge about the well-being effects of nature, mental skills, the psychology of positivity and awareness skills.

In nature, the recovery of the body, the maintenance of cells and the functioning of the parasympathetic nervous system start automatically. Just 5-10 minutes of being in nature has physiological effects. It has been measured that the amount of stress hormones, i.e. cortisol and adrenaline, decreases in the body, and the pleasure-producing hormones such as serotonin and oxytocin increase.

Being in a natural environment has also been found to increase attentiveness and concentration, so exercising in nature can also strengthen working capacity before particularly demanding work tasks.

The Metsämieli method created by Sirpa Arvonen contains clear and self-directed exercises that are suitable for relaxation, refreshment, stress management, mental skills training, awareness, presence and acceptance skills training, well-being and resourcefulness skills training, and planning everyday well-being habits.

Metsämeli training is suitable for every season. Forest spirit sets the thoughts and the body in motion. We can start the Metsämeli exercises with an introduction to ways of maintaining resources and recognizing stress reactions in the mind and body. The woodland walk outside starts in a circle, where the participants receive training instructions for the next gently progressing walking stage, where they talk with the couple. Sometimes we stop to do the
Metsämiel exercise, each with his own thoughts. Experiences, thoughts and insights are briefly shared in the circle and then continue to the next exercise.
