Päijänne National Park

Lahti Region Päijänne National Park, esker islands and, rugged cliffs and skerries create a unique landscape and nature. Located in the municipalities of Padasjoki, Asikkala and Sysmä, the national park area encompasses approximately fifty islands,  Including including one of Finland’s largest and most beautiful esker islands, Kelvenne.

Kelvenne Trail

The history of this 8-kilometre-long esker’s formation and its wide range of flora, make Kelvenne one of the most fascinating sites in the area. It is also appreciated as an unparalleled hiking destination. Or you can discover the sandy shores and coves of Lake Päijänne by gliding over its waters in on a boat or canoe. For sunbathing and swimming, you’ll find your heart’s desire at on the 700-metre-long natural sandy beach at Isohieta.
