Laajavuori

Laajavuori is an urban outdoor sports centre that offers a variety of sports activities as well as stunning views. On the top of Laajavuori you can admire the city and the nearby forests and ponds from a height of 227 meters. Downhill skiers can take the lift straight up the hill, and in the summer, you can walk all the way up.

On the top of Laajavuori, there is a ski jump stadium with five ski jump hills. One of the hills is named after the successful Jyväskylä-based hill jumping legend Matti Nykänen. The Nykänen ski jump hill is one of the best known landmarks in Jyväskylä and at night it is beautifully lit up. The Nykänen hill observation tower offers breath-taking views of Jyväskylä. During the opening hours of the observation tower and Mäkikahvio café, you can drive to the top by car.

Laajavuori is located only about four kilometres from the centre of Jyväskylä and can be reached easily and quickly by public transport.
