Our food is inspired by the the eastern Finnish and Karelian food culture and we offer authentic local dishes made from pure ingredients, such as game, fish, berries, roots, mushrooms and herbs, always cooked the Karelian way. We have been cooking using the same philosophy for 30 years
All our raw ingredients come from our province of North Karelia. You can enjoy vendace of Puruvesi, lamb cooked in a smoke sauna, organic home made bread, barley pies and long-stewed casseroles, just to name a few.
Anni is the hostess and chef, and her passion and love for Karelia is beautifully reflected in her food. In 2017, Puukarin Pysäkki was awarded as the second best small company in the Organic Championships of the Stairs to Organic program.
