Visit websiteImatrankoski rapids was formed about 5,700 years ago, when flowing waters of River Vuoksi eroded a channel into the fractured bedrock. It is said to be Finland’s first tourist attraction, attracting visitors also from abroad. Nowadays the rapids are dammed, but the flowing waters can be admired at summer in rapids shows.
