Architect’s Signature Style – Lecture and Workshop with Conservation Architect Susanna Anttila
Workshop space Kulma (1st Floor)
The workshop at the Alvar Aalto Museum will introduce participants to the architect’s thinking and handiwork. Susanna Anttila, restoration architect at the Alvar Aalto Foundation, will present perspectives on design: How are the built environment, the client’s wishes, and the architect’s ideas reconciled? How can we preserve existing buildings and live up to the original designer’s goals? The workshop will explore different ways of sketching, reflect on our own experiences of space, and do a little exercise to get a feel for the environment.
The workshop is held in Finnish.
Free admission to the entire Aalto2 Museum Centre during the day.

The celebration day is part of the annual ArkMuoto Days, which will be held as a week-long festival from February 2 to 8, 2026. ArkMuoto Week is celebrated annually around February 3, the anniversary of Alvar and Aino Aalto and Finnish architecture and design. This year’s theme, “Together,” celebrates collaboration and the power of working together. Architecture is designed, built, and used together, and the week’s events throughout Finland are the result of collaboration between many different parties.
