Häme Region has truly unique nature everywhere you go. The hiking, biking and canoing trails lead you to the green forests, lakeshores, ridges and bogs with beautiful scenery. Häme Region has two different kinds of National Parks right next to each other in Tammela, only an hour’s drive away from Helsinki, Turku and Tampere.
Torronsuo National Park
In Torronsuo National Park, you can walk along long duckboard trails over the deepest bog in Finland. In winter you can ski over the bog and admire the white wintery scene. The Torronsuo beautiful, rugged landscape attracts hikers all-year round, it’s like a small piece of Lapland in Southern Finland. There are both long and short trails and also wider duckboards for disabled visitors. There are awesome views out over the bog from the birdwatching tower.

Liesjärvi National Park has a charming cultural landscape with lakes and forests. Walk along the Kyynärhaju ridge between two lakes and pick fresh berries and mushrooms from the forest. Take part in traditional farm work counting sheep and making hay at Korteniemi Heritage Farm, part of the Liesjärvi National Park.
