Summer starts at the Sandcastle for families with children! With a new castle theme every Summer, it is sure to grab the attention of the whole family. The Sandcastle has charmed visitors since 2004, and millions of kilos of sand is used to carve this magnificent Sandcastle. The Sandcastle is part of the Harbour and Fortress area which is everybody’s favourite.

The Sandcastle area offers also an extensive equipment rental that includes basic hiking gear giving tourists more opportunities to visit the archipelago and stay overnight in nature. In the summer, you can also take combined canoeing – floating sauna from the Sandcastle, or go on a fishing excursion. The Sandcastle is also the starting and finishing point of the sightseeing tour where you get to see the highlights of summery Lappeenranta.
